As part of a series of improvements being undertaken by the owners, we are upgrading the key external doors to this iconic Manchester landmark. Suffering bomb damage twice in its lifetime, much of the original carpentry has been lost and this is an opportunity to replace the recent poor quality doorsets with a striking new bronze and glass design. Borne out of careful research into the most recent phase of the building’s history, around the time of the Great War, the designs are a contemporary interpretation of the architects’ original design language. Listed Building Consent has been granted and the works are expected to commence towards the end of 2020.
